Ready-to-Lay: Buff Orpington
Named for the English town where they were developed, Orpingtons come in several feather colors, but all are big, quiet birds with fluffy feathers that keep them toasty warm during frigid weather. Buff Orpingtons are the most common color and lay about 200 brown eggs a year. Pick-up for all Ready-to-Lay birds will be on February 15, 2025 at Russell Feed & Supply in Saginaw from 8AM - 10AM. At this time, your hen(s) will be 18 weeks of age which is when most hens lay their first egg. In their first year, you can expect up to 200-250 medium brown eggs from high-producing, well-fed laying hens.
From the time you purchase your chicks you will be sent weekly updates on the progress of your chicks, videos of their growth, as well as tips and tricks to prepare you for their homecoming.

Important: Our maximum Ready-to-Lay Hen quantity is 5 per breed. As we have a limited quantity of Ready-to-Lay Hens for purchase, it will be first come, first serve. Pick-up date will be February 15, 2025 at the Russell Feed & Supply in Saginaw from 8AM - 10AM. If your chicken is not picked up during this time, your hen will be forfeited and avaliable for purchase on sight. Email is required at checkout. All sales are final.
